DIY Gingerbread Latte

I recently found a bottle of Starbucks Gingerbread Latte syrup in the pantry (SCORE!). It may be from last year but who cares…it’s sugar and water….I’ll be fine. I don’t know if they will be selling the syrup this year but I have come up with a way for you to enjoy this tasty holiday drink anytime you like.  Torani still makes a gingerbread syrup, look for it in specialty food stores near the holidays (and stock up for the rest of the year). And for those of us who are of a certain age, Hiram Walker makes a gingerbread liqueur.  You are welcome.
DIY Gingerbread Latte

• ground ginger
• Gingerbread syrup
• 2-4 shots of espresso or 2 cups of brewed coffee
• milk or creamer

To make a gingerbread latte:

1. Put 1/2 to 1 Tbsp (about 3 pumps) Gingerbread Syrup into a mug

2. Before brewing your coffee (espresso or brewed) add a little ground ginger to your grounds

3. Add a 2-4 shots of espresso to your mug

4. Fill the rest of the mug with hot steamed milk

5. Top with whipped cream and cinnamon sugar and enjoy!

For flavoring Brewed coffee:

1. Put 1/2 to 1 Tbsp (about 3 pumps) Gingerbread Syrup into a mug

2. Before brewing your coffee (espresso or brewed) add a little ground ginger to your grounds

3. Add coffee and creamer to your coffee and enjoy!
