Is Grande the New Tall?

Tall (12oz.), Grande (16oz.), Venti (20oz.), Trenta (31oz.)

Whether it’s medium or grande, small or tall… more and more often I find my self ordering grande (typically 16oz.) coffee drinks instead of tall (typically 120z.).  I don’t know when this happened but I always used to order small drinks.  Now it’s grande all the way and on rare occasion venti (when I really need a caffeine boost).

Maybe it’s just me, subconsciously moving up in the coffee world.  Maybe it’s the assumption that more is more and that is better.  As we go on in life we tend to move in to bigger sizes of things; cars, purses, houses (or apartments), closets, etc.  Maybe I am putting entirely too much thought into this…who knows lol.

So what do you think? What is your size staple? Is grande really the new tall (or venti the new grande if you were at that level already)? Will we all move on to trenta in the near future haha?

Drop me a comment and let me know what you think  🙂

    it always comes on my mind, do they have the same amount of espresso shot in each size, or do they add more espresso shot to each different size.
    since i think they’ll never add more shot unless you ask for it, i go with tall to get the best taste. but i don’t know, how about you?

      Hey there!
      So here is the break down on espresso based drinks at Starbucks-
      Tall = 1 shot
      Grande= 2 shots
      Venti= 3 shots

      So if you want a Tall with and extra shot you would ask for a “Double Tall {Insert Name of Drink}”

      I hope this helps you!
