Honey Roasted Coffee

A couple of weeks ago I went on a trip to Savannah, then I posted about the Savannah Bee Company and the wonders of their raw honey products.  In that post, I mentioned that I got a bag of  Honey Roasted coffee and that I would review it when I finally opened it.  Well, that day has finally come 🙂

After sadly using up all of the Tim Hortons that Mark brought me from Toronto, I finally delved into my honey coffee.  I wasn’t sure how this whole “roasted with honey” thing was going to work out but I was sweetly surprised that the coffee did have a hint of honey taste to it.  It’s a mild organic coffee with a pleasant flavor.  I don’t know if it was the honey or what but it has an almost toasted nut flavor, like the aroma you get when toasting almonds or pecans in the oven.  To complete my cup I added a dollop of honey for sweetener and plain 1% milk (no flavored creamer) because I wanted to really taste my new coffee.

If you are interested in trying out some honey toasted coffee, give the Savannah Bee Company a call – (912) 233-7873…they sell their honey products online but not the coffee.

  1. I was in Savannah this weekend and too bought the honey roasted coffee. I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet, but this review really excited me about the whole experience. I’ll be brewing some as soon as I leave work today. Thanks a lot. (:

Heather, I hope you enjoy the coffee I certainly did. It has a nice, light roasted honey taste that I am missing in my other coffees since I ran out. It tastes great with honey or sugar as a sweetener. Let me know what you think of it 🙂 Glad my review could help you!

I too am a convert to honey coffee after buying a bag at Savannah Bee Company’s shop in Charleston. While SBC doesn’t offer their coffee for sale on their online store, luckily the Ogeechee Coffee does! They’re the provider of the beans for this heavenly brew:

    Yay!

  3. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet
effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a excellent job with
this. Also, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Internet explorer.
    Outstanding Blog!

  1. […] A little sweet and a lot espresso-y.  I like it, it has a much subtler taste than the vanilla latte but it is still sweet enough that I didn’t need to add a packet of sweetener.  What I like is that I really get to taste the espresso in this drink, yummy!  I got mine iced with nonfat milk, but what else is new?  It also kind of reminds me of my Honey Roasted coffee from Savannah Bee Company, post on that can be found here.
