Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Company- Coffee Review
Drink Coffee. Do Good. When our church announced that it was selling coffee during the month of July, you can guess who’s ears perked up.
Well mine of course, sillies. Our church was selling the coffee to raise money for a local mission. Two things that I am a big softie for, philanthropy and coffee.
As it turns out, the coffee company is local too. The coffee is from Land Of A Thousand Hills Coffee Company; the roast is Cafe Marmelade, a single origin Haitian Bleu coffee. While most of their coffee is grown in Rwanda, however this coffee comes from a mountain region of Haiti. The story is, after the 2010 earthquake that devastated the island nation, the coffee company went looking for a way to source coffee from them. Funds from this coffee are helping to rebuild villages and coffee farms…and did I mention that it tastes great?
This is a pretty mild coffee, even in it’s strongest brewing. Highly drinkable, and I think even the most timid coffee drinkers would appreciate this brew. I have come to appreciate the rich, dark blends but I really enjoy this coffee for it’s touted ‘sweet well balanced nature, with butter hints of cocoa.’ You had me a cocoa, I will definitely buy more! (PS> You can order it in whole bean or ground)
